The cost of energy continues to rise, and therefore represents a very high percentage of any foundry's total costs. Gas has always been the cheapest source of energy for melting metals up to 1000°C, and now, thanks to the benefits of the 'Recuperative System', truly significant savings can be achieved.
Morgan has developed a series of furnaces that incorporate a recuperative technique so that fuel is used more efficiently. The Morgan MKV gas-fired furnace with recuperative System, manufactured in the UK by MMP Ltd, offers the best in the field of crucible furnaces, both tilting and stationary, suitable for a wide range of melting capacities and performances.
The new technology incorporated in the recuperative system makes it the most efficient product of its kind. It has proven to achieve an energy reduction of at least 30% in conventional gas-fired furnaces. In some foundries, gas savings of 50% have been achieved compared to conventional combustion furnaces with further improvements. Savings thanks to a more efficient use of gas through recuperative technology are increased by using the best refractory and insulating materials in the production of the furnace.
