These crucibles are characterised by high refractoriness, good thermal conductivity, excellent chemical resistance against fluxes and thermal shock. Further important characteristics are high mechanical strength and good oxidation resistance.
Silicon carbide Crucibles
In order to meet the specific requirements of induction furnaces, NOLTINA has developed a range of silicon carbide crucibles as an alternative to graphite clay crucibles, which have a better resistance to chemical attack and a longer service life.
SALAMANDER
On the market since 1907, these crucibles are available in graphite clay and silicon carbide. Their main characteristics include high resistance to chemical corrosion, thermal conductivity and refractoriness.
CRUCIBLES FOR ALUMINIUM, COPPER AND ZINC ALLOYS
GEFOND has represented MORGAN-NOLTINA crucibles for the Italian market for thirty years. NOLTINA crucibles and accessories are used today all over the world wherever maximum safety and efficiency is required. Product quality is the result of the experience and know-how of highly qualified personnel, the use of the latest technology and the best raw materials. The products are ISO 9002 certified. The range of crucibles includes:
STABIL
Stabil SiC crucibles are silicon carbide crucibles and are ideal for melting in combustion furnaces. These crucibles are characterized by a good thermal conductivity, guarantee excellent stability at high temperatures and are particularly suitable for those processes where temperature changes frequently and where high heating speeds are used. High. They also have a high mechanical resistance and refractoriness which make them particularly suitable for melting heavy metal alloys.
For years, Morgan Advanced Materials has presented the Syncarb Z2-e2 (Energy Efficiency) crucible designed specifically for melting and holding aluminium. The results show an operational performance that very often outperforms the competition in both crucible life and energy efficiency. The Syncarb Z2-e2 line consists of isostatically pressed crucibles alloyed with hybrid ceramics and a high content of silicon carbide and graphite. The Syncarb Z2-e2 line guarantees higher mechanical strength thanks to a significantly improved granulation process. This means that the crucibles are more resistant to mechanical stresses resulting from handling and operation. The Syncarb Z2-e2 line guarantees higher thermal conductivity at all operating temperatures, thus offering greater energy savings.
The energy saving in the foundry starts from the Crucible:
higher energy efficiency and more productivity with crucibles for aluminum alloys and zinc Syncarb Z2e2 by Morgan-Noltina, distributed exclusively for Italy by Gefond
VAluStar™ is the latest family of isostatically cold-pressed crucibles (cip) developed by Morgan Advanced Materials.
The patented VAluStar™ composition prevents low-temperature oxidation and degradation of the crucible.
As a result, VAluStar™ has a significantly longer service life than the market average for low-temperature applications, maintaining its good thermal conductivity throughout its entire service life.
- Significant increase in production per crucible due to longer lifetime
- Reduction of crucible changes by at least 33%.
