With the strategic plan "Gefond - for a Long Life Industry," the Milan-based company representing leading suppliers in the diecasting industry and distributing foundry equipment technologically advanced. expands its product and service offerings by focusing on innovation,digitization and sustainability. From the new HPDC by Gefond line of temperature controllers for diecasting machines to the new Perpetuo platform for predictive maintenance in foundries, Tiziana Tronci explains this new path.

Established in 1994 by Pierluigi Tronci, backed by a wealth of professional experience in the non-ferrous materials sector, GEFOND today represents and distributes consumables and technological equipment of major international brands destined for the non-ferrous alloy foundry sector.
Over time, the company has developed a particular focus on the field of diecasting for light alloy castings for automotive use, providing foundries with technologically advanced and innovative products.

We meet in Gefond's Milan headquarters Tiziana Tronci, daughter of the founder, who joined the fami ly company five years ago in the role of head of external relations and new product development, bringing solid experience in communication and marketing gained in international companies. An entry that at the same time is a strong signal of generational continuity and the company's desire for growth.

Communication and innovation, in two words a true synthesis of vision and program for your company. How are you addressing this commitment?
First by bringing my own vision of business, of which I am convinced, but corroborating it through discussion and dialogue with colleagues and of course with my father. In fact.
our line has always been to offer high-performance and innovative products to the market; Gefond has always stood for innovation, availability and flexibility, looking very much at customers' needs, so my joining the family business in 2016 to reinforce this drive for innovation fits very well into a path that was already well under way. When I joined the company, I was a 40-year-old in the midst of a very satisfying professional career in another industry, so it was a very carefully thought-out decision. I tiptoed into Gefond, building my credibility day by day with employees and customers, listening a lot and bringing my experience to propose new strategies. I credit my father with the wisdom of going along with this approach of mine, and today I can say that my father and I are a successful case of generational transition in action. We have a very useful comparison for both of us in terms of the established business, that is, what he has built
over the years, both in terms of the new, that is, the new projects and new investments of Gefond that I have promoted over the past five years, on which my father gives me important support because of his long experience.

Light alloy casting foundry is now more than ever a mainstay of manufacturing, aluminum is increasingly recognized as a champion of technical characteristics and sustainability, recyclability qualities will further push its uses; a company like yours must always be one step ahead to meet the competitiveness your customers need.
We are also convinced that aluminum is a material with great prospects, in automotive first and foremost, but also in construction, packaging, mechanics and electrical engineering. Italy, and Europe in general, has a large production and use of aluminum castings and die castings, it is essential that the entire value chain works
to perfection to give international competitiveness.
As I mentioned earlier, this is the line set by my father and which we are confirming. Gefond's challenge is to keep up with change by trying to anticipate it, to support trends in the manufacturing industry with our innovative technical solutions, and, thanks to the strategic skills we have patiently built up so far, we are succeeding. We have come up with a very specific program of work, which we have called Gefond for a Long Life Industry, consisting of three main points:
- Looking to the future and focusing on technological innovation,
- focusing on digitization and sustainability;
- Expand service offerings;
- Push on training to increase productivity.
